Made a trip to the Subordinate Court today, and i must say..what an exciting and adventurous trip it was!!! Hahaa..although it was such a serious place!

After filing the paperwork, i had to wait for my turn to meet the judge. After almost 30 minutes of waiting, my name was called. I don’t know why..but my heart began to pound faster and faster! Hahaha!! Once inside the room, i was asked to stand still before the judge and not move. She was so stern looking! For a moment, i saw the power of authority in motion hahha! After reviewing the case, i was made to swear the pledge..you know, the part where you lift up your right hand and say “I swear to tell the truth..” thingy. Hahaha i wanted to laugh!!! But thought it would be a bad idea! Feels like i’m in a movie or something you know!

In less than 5 mins, i was out of the room with my heart still pounding. My imagination always picture a judge looking like an old balding man with a small pair of circular glasses hanging on the edge of his nose. But to the contrary, this judge was not only young looking but quite pretty too!

We managed to sneak into one of the court rooms to have a look at how it is like. And wow..it’s really like what we always see on TV!! I think we are the most excited and happy people there in the court!

So sad i couldn’t take any photos as no photography was allowed. I was contemplating if i should ask the judge to take a photo with me! But once i stepped into the room, i forgot everything!! Anyway..the judge might think i’m trying to be funny ah? Hahha

Was sms-ing my friend that i came back from the court. And her reply was like: “Court? Oh you wanna buy new furniture?” Hahahha!!!!! I couldn’t stop laughing!!!!! Aiyo, how blur can she be?! So cute.

To me, this whole issue is so ridiculous, unnecessary and a waste of time. I’m never a provocative person, not one who enjoys looking for conflicts. If we can all learn to give and take, be more enduring..the world will be a better place. Despite what had happened, I pray it can be settled amicably and things will work well for all parties.

World peace!

An unwritten page

Posted in Uncategorized on January 28, 2009 by wanzai

Recently, i’ve been reading this every time my faith leaks and will feel recharge all over again!

An excerpt from Pst Ulf’s writings..

“..allow Jesus to show you the new year. It is full of possibilities. There are tasks you are to accomplish, people you are to meet, relationships you are to establish and situations in which you are to serve in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Get ready! In Christ you will bear much fruit this year. The new year is like the land of Canaan. You need courage, faith, initiative and obedience to enter in. And once in the land there will be opposition and giants that will try to hinder you. But you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.

Do not let the past cast dark shadows over the new year. Do not let yesterday’s mistakes convince you that it is not worthwhile to carry on. What will happen during this new year? We do not know, but the year is in the hands of God.

Allow the Holy Spirit to test every area of your life, every motivation, every disappointment, and you will see how He will help you. A new adventure is beginning, and there is no limit to the greatness of God’s plans for you. He wants to give you both a future and a hope. A new year, like an unwritten page, is waiting to be written by you in cooperation with the HS.”

Enjoy!

Today, was also the 1st time i went for movies with my members since we combined last year!!! Oh my gosh!! Hahaha will make it a point to fellowship more with them in the last few months we have together : ). They are seriously such fun and entertaining peeps, can’t stop laughing with them around.

Looking forward to more exciting new experiences.. less threathening ones though!

Happy NIU Year peeps!

Posted in Uncategorized on January 23, 2009 by wanzai

Wishing everybody an early Happy Niu Year before i get too busy the next few days collecting angpows and eating my fav bah kwah..hehhee!

Just came back from watching “Bride Wars”. I’ve not been entertained by such a hilarious show for a long time!!! Catch it if you can, think you’ll enjoy it too : ).

Was watching a TV program and someone in it said that one of her new year resolution is to try doing something new every SINGLE day! Wow I thought it’s quite a neat idea eh! It’ll make me step out more and upgrade myself to be more productive and creative hopfully.

So i started with today…and the new thing i did today was learning a new chinese word from Karen! 牛转乾坤 hahaha

Gonna record every new thing i did in this year..if i can’t find something new daily, even if it’s weekly..by year end, i would have tried out at least 52 new things in the year! I got pretty excited!!! And started to list down some new things i might be able to try out..like:

– scuba diving
– learn playing drums
– attend a baking course
– learn photoshop or any graphical kinda program
– photography
– prawn fishing
– backpacking
– perm my hair??!!!
– smile at every single person i meet for 1 whole week (for a start lah haha)
– bring my members for joy rides to hidden places in Singapore!
– go exercising with my ma

If you have suggestions..do let me know alright! But most of them require spending $$…hopefully i’ll get creative ideas that are more economical!

Be still

Posted in Uncategorized on January 22, 2009 by wanzai

Good to be back. It’s time to settle down and start my year!

Siew and myself are soooo excited to receive KC’s email and his comments! Feel so honored..can’t wait to meet up with him after CNY!!! She told me of a funny dream she had of me! Haha…shhhhh!

Managed to finish reading a couple of books this past 2 weeks, partly due to my eccentric body clock. Have not quite adjusted back since Korea..so I’ll wake up at 2-3am and go back to sleep at 5-6am, then wake up again at 8am! Hopes my gym sessions will help me get my life back in order! Hahaha

Ok so back to the books..been blessed reading them. Recently there’s some shaking in the CG, which Sue attributed it to the cause of our soon-to-be multiplication. As i read, i was thinking how true and applicable some of its principles are for some of my members and even myself.

It’s incredible to think how CHC have managed to contain its unified peace for so many years..and still, growing from strength to strength.  Because it seems like as long as there are people, there will be animosity. And because no one is perfect, we do get hurt or unknowingly hurt others at times.

It says in the book that disappointments are not based on what you find, but what you EXPECT to find. How true. Off hand, I thought of some of my members and even myself who had experienced it first hand, but it is also something we will learn from.

It also says that people respond to hurts differently. Some cover their hurts by laughing, some through crying, some through simply ignoring, some through running away, some through suppression. Regardless the method, the only way really..is to face it. Facing it courageously together with God.

Repression seems easier to deal with than rejection. Perhaps in our limited minds, we often think that the failure we might face by having to try again will hurt us more than suppressing it to ourselves. Maybe that’s why  how some rather shut down than to deal with the problem at times.

I’m never proud of the times i ran away instead of standing still, but i dare say that i’m learning and trying with each new day : ).

Impatience is the tool of the flesh, and misunderstanding is the tool of the devil. When you play into the hands of both, you allow the devil to steal, kill and destroy. So let’s not become impatience, because God works in His time. When we do not understand or see results, that is when we learn to grow. And to allow the devil come mess with your mind, that’s even worse! Dr. Ed Cole once said sorrow is life’s greatest teacher. In our sorrow, true joy is birthed..so don’t be so quick to give up on our relationships with God or with people.

While reading i got reminded of a verse Boss spoke over me last year. Isa 30:15 “..in quietness and confidence shall be your strength.”  God is bringing me back to the stillness and confidence that i was once familiar with.

Having said much, truth is like soap – it won’t do you any good if it is not applied. We can read alot, talk alot, but at the end..it’s application that change our lives. This is a statement that is many a times understated. Because heart over matters..it is harder said than done.

Truth may be hard to swallow, but then again most medicines are. The truth of the word of God will bring forth the healing you need and believing for. Time to do some swallowing..let’s trust God, obey His word, and start the year right as how it should be!

“Be still, and know that I AM.” – God

Better in time

American Idol is back! It’s really entertaining to watch all the “different” and bold contestants trying out for audition as bad as it might sound hahha. Go watch it if you can, and have a jolly good laugh!

Met Charmaine today to exchange our overseas presents! She bought me a Coach bag from USA. Nice…i love it, thank you so much Charmaine! I simply adore receiving presents!!!!!

So far so good, been sticking close to the goals i’ve set…hope i’ll be discipline to last throughout the entire year!

Better in time.

Korea Trip 3-10 Jan 2009

Posted in Uncategorized on January 13, 2009 by wanzai

Finally found some time to pen down my experiences during this Korea Trip. Let me start with the more serious stuffs, then onto the fun-ner stuffs ya.

Actual Church Tour 5-9 Jan
– Daily 430pm Morning Prayer Meetings at Yoido Full Gospel Church, amazingly..there was an average turnout of 24,000 members daily! What an awesome sight to see them praying with such fervency & sincerity.

– Prayer mountain was originally a cemetery, till God spoke to Pst Cho’s mother-in-law to turn it into a prayer mountain as it is today, through Psalms 81:10 “..Open wide your mouth, and I will fill it.” It was -13 degrees up there! I went back to pray in its ghetto on 9 Jan. A day to remember.

– Toured Kukmin Daily Newspaper Editorial & Television Office @ CCMM Building. The church owns a few buildings along the street! Awesome!
– Toured Elim Welfare Town (the kids @ its nursery are soooo cute!!), Hansei University, Kukmin Printing Press
dsc06138
– Pastor Kong preached in their mid-week service, I wrote down 11 prayer items to Yoido church to pray throughout 2009 too! 감사합니다! (That’s thank you in Korean. Kam-sah-ham-nee-dah! Hee)

And now, the fun stuffs!
Decided to extended my stay from 3 Jan onwards partly because i wanted to take the opportunity to fellowship more with Karen. I’m glad i did so as i had a great time with her, and saw a totally different side of her! Hahahah..so cute! Not forgetting Jonana who kept my sister very entertained with her doughnut song!

dsc060151
There was shopping at Myeongdong (Orchard), Namdaemun, Dondaemun (night shopping till 5am!), Apgujeong/Rodeo St, COEX mall (huge!), Sincheong, Isadong and even Itawon (too old school for comfort).

There was also BBQ beef, BBQ pork, BBQ chicken..more meat & meat & meat till i felt like i ate a cow home! Just not a big fan of Korean food. There were also quite interesting and nice food like “Kraze” Burger which i totally adore, and the fish soupy thingy that taste like HK’s yudan!

There were interesting encounters like..
– Met an old couple whilst taking the airport express bus to hotel, they were so kind to draw out the entire subway route to direct us to Itawon! So nice!
– Got hugged by a salesgirl when she refused to give me a discount! What?!!She even hit my backside a few times!!! What?!! I feel violated! Hahah
– Walked in the extreme cold of the night just to look for this particular Cheonggyecheon Stream which turn out to be highly disappointing!! Hahah..but the fun was in the ‘discovering’ walk ya ;p
– Visited 2 palacces..why? Because the 1st one we went too was closed on Mondays!! Haha..more walking, and more ‘discovery’ time. 1st time seeing a frozen river too.

n713997112_1347623_2087
– Saw one of the most unique Starbucks  in the world, as it has Korean signage instead of its usual standardized English ones (as stated in its tourism boards)
dsc059262
– On our last day, decided to try taking Korea’s subway using the map given by the old couple. Feel quite proud of ourselves to manage to figure out our way around with its complicated routes!

Too many to list..But it was an eventful trip. Felt like God was preparing me for the trip since last year when i fasted for 7 days. One of the places that impacted me most was the prayer mountain, it was there where God spoke to me. Seems like the ghettos had a covering of His presence all over. It’s really a place saturated with prayer. Another thing that impacted me alot was seeing how fervent and sincere the people were in their prayers.

Hope i’d brought back a part of Yoido’s spirit back with me, may 2009 be a year where i’ll pray more effectively & fervently. I feel very blessed to be able to be part of this trip, to witness such eye openers..and hope i’m able to live out what i’ve heard and experienced.

First words of the year

Posted in Uncategorized on January 2, 2009 by wanzai

Today was the 1st time  i heard from God for the new year.

Psalms 112:1-10 (NKJV & NIV)
“Praise the Lord! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, who delights greatly in His commandments…Wealth & riches will be in his house, and his righteousness endures forever. Light shines in the darkness for the godly. They are generous, compassionate, and righteous. A good man deals graciously and lends; He will guide his affairs with discretion..His heart is steadfast, trusting in the Lord..”

I’m encouraged through these verses. I pray this year i will grow in graciousness in my dealings, in bigness of heart, in generosity, in compassion and to be able to guide my affairs with greater discretion.

2009 still seem unreal to me. But i think reality will really set in when i’m back from Korea. In 3hours time, i’ll be getting ready for the airport!

Till then, tata!
xoxo
