Blood Stealers!

Yesterday, i went for my 1st ever pre-vocation medical checkup for my upcoming new job. Since i’ve never like checkups, and super scared of injections..i went with much hesitation. But Dy said she went before and nothing one la, so i felt better going for it.

It started off with the usual measurement of my height and weight, then i had to urine on this strip of paper (just gross i feel), followed by an X-ray. So just when i thought i was about done, they saved the best for last! The nurse told me please proceed to Room 2 now for your blood test! My heart stopped!! Blood test? What blood test?? NOOOOoooo!!!!

The nurse started to laugh once i sit down, probably seeing how cramp my face became! She kept saying it’s ok..not pain one. LIKE REAL!! It hurts la!! And i don’t understand why do they need to take so much of my blood, a whole tube of it!!!! DBS, you blood stealer you! You might think i’m exaggerating, but gotta understand my tolerance for pain is near zero! And I was just telling my members about my donating blood experience the day before!! Sigh..i wonder how am i gonna give birth next time?? Hahaah

Anyway i survived, with a punctured hole on my arm. After that, i went to start preparing my farewell letters to all my clients. Writing cards for some of them as well. Hmm..it’s really amazing thinking back how not only i’ve grown in Prudential and NGO the past 4 years, but happy to see how some of my clients have grown too as well. It had been such a fun and amazing journey. A part of my life i will miss.

 

On a happier note…simply can’t wait to fly to Japan with Siew in a few days time!!!! It’ll probably be my last trip before i start work and i won’t know when i will be able to fly again. Dear God, please let me enjoy this trip to the MAX!!!

Losing my wings soon

It is quite amazing to see how things have come around in the past few months…last year had not been the best one for me, in many areas of my life. But am really thankful for His faithfulness : ).

It is official..i’m gonna move on to a new chapter of my life in the area of my career! After a few months of waiting, the doors has finally open. Excited to start something new but yet sad to leave the great friendships build over the past 4 years in Prudential. And super sad that soon this will be the only kind of clothes i’ll wear everyday and i’ll lose my wings to flyyyyyy!!! Ahhhhhhh!!!!!!!

A special thanks to my lao ban, will always be grateful to what he had sown into my life.

Well..the next one week will be busy meeting up with clients, calling them, informing them of my resignation from Prudential. Oh gosh..i wonder how it’ll be like. I’m not good with goodbyes.

Anyway…yesterday while driving to church, Char suddenly said: “Jie, you see..the cloud like pointing middle finger at you!” I was like…oh ya man!!! And it got me so distracted can, like so vulgar la?!! hhahah tsk tsk tsk

I had great fun at WYZ – The Bazaar too…forgotten how fun it can be shouting “lelong lelong” hahaha! Our stall did not too bad, i think we made almost $150+ in total! I was very impressed by how creative the members can be too! Awesome!

东游记

On Saturday, i embarked on something i’ve never done before in my life.

东游记 (A journey to the East) – overnight cycling with my members!

Reflecting back, i really think we achieved quite a feat! Just imagine cycling for 7 hours! From ECP, to Changi Village, to Pasir Ris Park, then backwards to Tampines, Simei, Expo, Bedok and finally ECP again!! I’m still amazed how i made it through alive hahahah

It was extremely painful to my poor legs, hands and butt..but was an extremely enjoyable time as well. More importantly, i was very blessed by my mbms’ encouragement of telling me “Sharon, jiayou, just a bit more! You can do it!” haha..their care for each other (thank God for no mishaps!), and e fun-ness we shared. I’m loving them more and more each day : ).

Oh i also got as close as i could to wearing a raincoat. It was a poncho, which totally don’t look like a raincoat actually. While putting it on, i feel like Kai and myself looked like 2 road sweepers walking in the rain! And we’re just short of a broom in our hands! Hahaha

Something happened which made me remember what i read in a book. It’s so true the devil always catch us when our guard is down, and hit on our weaknesses. All the more, we need to be close to God n His word. And also, the importance of being accountable, if not we will only learn through the hard way..when there is a better way.

A short writing on the book..

God will connect this world to Himself, not through science, government or technology, but through people – the people of prayer. We look for better methods, God looks for better people. It’s not the method that contains power, it’s the people. We tend to think that the force of our own knowledge will fetch the solution we need, when in actuality answers are only found through the prayer of an awakened spirit.

2 Chronicles 7:14
If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and PRAY and seek My face, and turn fro their wicked ways, then I will hear from Heaven, and WILL forgive their sin and heal their land.

Final Solution

Woke up with the many voices in my head.

I think i’m having an Easter drama production overload haha.

This Easter was quite different, din had as many friends as we targeted for. But yet..the friends that came, were really like the kind of members i’ve been praying for daily, just that they’re the unsaved version! Hope to really see them giving their lives to God eventually as we continue to build friendships and meet their needs : ).

My members introduced me to a new place to chill at One Fullerton Starbucks. It’s really quite a nice place. And i was kept entertained by the gals and their interesting manners of communication hahhaa. Just have to specially mention one part when one of them very confidently said “3+7=9 what”. *Eyebrows raised* Hmmm yaa!! Hahaha

One thing i’m realizing is…just like how Dy says she’s working in a Citi that never sleeps..i’m beginning to feel like i’m leading a CG that never sleeps!! We’re gonna have a night cycling next week, following..they’re suggesting to have a night picnic and watch the sunrise! Hahah..perhaps time for me to stock up my eye cream!!!

High Five!

Had our 1st CGM as W515 yesterday. *High Five!*..one of my cold jokes, my members will know. Hahha..it was a great time of fellowship with God and with the members with none other than my fav – steamboat! Muah.ha.ha. But seriously, this was my 1st time having steamboat with otah can?! Yeah..my reaction was just like yours now..hahaha!

Who’s missing??? Nic who’s in Taiwan still..and Kachee, Tunglin and Junjie too.

When i look at them, can’t help but to be reminded of how i came to church too. I was ard 18, gave my life to God and decided to serve the house of God since then. Am filled with excitement over what this group of ordinary young people is gonna do for God! There’s so much potential in each and everyone of them. So once again, the journey begins..AT THE BEGINNING : ).

Here comes Q2

Entering into the 2nd day of the 2nd quarter of 2009..decided to do a stock take of how the 1st quarter had been, how far or near i am for the goals i’ve set..

– Spent more time seeking God (checked)
– Multiply and raise up 1 CGL (checked)
– Go gyming once a week (checked..well almost checked!)
– Be more patient (still checking..hahah)
– Secure a job (uncheck)
– Travel less (checked..so far so good ;p)
– Some others unchecked too

New things i’ve tried/done thus far…
1) Learned a new Chinese word 牛转乾坤
2) Watched movie with W146W415 together
3) Dialled 999, visit to Magistrate court & stood before a judge..hehehe
4) Whole day outing with members going gym, visitations, shopping and dinner
5) Watched a movie in the morning!
6) Took bus 242 to church with my members. Glad i did so, because now there’s no more 242! Hahah
7) Went swimming for 1st time with Jo and Sue
8 ) Visited Marina Barrage
9) Fell asleep in the bus till it was parked @ the interchange!!
10) Wrote 1st song with Siew together
11) 1st visit to IMH..scary -_-
12) Brought my 2 boys for movie and being a nanny for a week
13) 1st try on Singapore Flyer with Siew
14) Visit to Mint Toy Museum with Dy
15) Washed feet for members
16) Changed CG name for 1st time

Hmm i hope acquire more new skills in this quarter..like maybe really get into learning to bake or something. That is, if am still very free and “unemployed”! hahaa

Hearing of the testimonies around me..it’s a bittersweet feeling? Am truly happy for them, yet at the same time…
Anyway, this week of morning PM has been encouraging to me, God spoke to me on the persistent widow. I think overall, i’m still on track and despite the gloom and doom…believe it’ll be a fruitful year still : ).

I just realized i’ve never worn a raincoat before. Can someone accompany me to wear it once, just for fun? Hahaha
