These are a few of my favorite things

Had my last CNY visitation yesterday at my aunt’s house.
It’s been a tradition since young and have always look forward to the superb soup boiled by my auntie.

What was different yesterday, was that my aunt distributed some remaining stuff left by my granny when she passed away. Looking at all the things, really brought back many happy memories, even though it’s been about 10 years ago since she left us. I love her to bits, and still think of her once a while.

These are a few of my favorite things of my childhood memories..
Going to Kusu Island with all the cousins & family, eating curry and picking seashells.
Playing soccer & cycling with cousins at house void deck, oh well i was always made the goalie anyway.
Eating T-bone steak after swimming lessons as part of the “bribe”.
Ice-Skating with Kor & Ah Yi.
Buying popcorn and Coffeebean Ice blended for granny..haha yes she loved it!
Going for the endless piano ballet phonetic art lessons. I learnt to enjoy it only when I’ve grown older : ).

And what i miss doing now..probably being able to just sit at Starbucks and read a book, or doing crazy things with my crazy friends at crazy hours, or travelling as and when i wish.

Anyway, my cousin’s wedding photos are finally here! So happy for him & Aki : ).

Things and people do change. Well, just a fact of life. We just need to adapt to it. This is going to be a very interesting year ahead for me. I am about to venture into unknown ground. Yet, I think it’s time to take the leap once again. Am ready for next week’s A&B, I have a vision of what I am giving into this time round.

LL Day

Sometimes I wonder why do I even take leave..because my phone will not stop ringing, and almost always having to end up going back to office.
No wonder my bankers carry 2 phones, I’m beginning to understand why.

It was a good day today. Met up with Dy to celebrate her bday. Been quite a long time since we last spend a day to LL (La Liang) together haha..to just wander around like how we know best. Went to explore the hype of the town – Resort World Sentosa. All I can say is, if they’re able to air-condition the entire IR to 17 degrees..it’ll be exactly like being in Genting! Hmm..the feel is just not atas.

Then, we went back to NGO office! Wow..feels, different. Elaine, Dajie, Karen, Gonghao, Esther, Winnie, Evelyn Tan, Evelyn were there. Did some catching up with them. Even bum into Laoban while going down to have coffee. He’s so tan now, Dy said he’s into golf that’s why.

Anyway, reality hit me hard when I was looking through my old photos..realized I’ve put on so much since last AC!!!!! I MUST be focus on losing weight!!!! I MUST! I MUST!!! Time to discipline once again!

I’m so looking forward to my 2 days off!!!!!!!! Cheers to slacking, feasting and not working!

I almost fell off my chair the other day when Char sms me this: “I can’t believe I’m saying this but, shall we spring clean on Sat?” Hahah would I ever say NO to spring clean?? She’s finally come around!! Just look at the amount of dust there was..and the fact that Wati sweeps the floor daily! Come visit my room now! I’m hoping  it’ll last foreverrrrr….but I guess in Char’s world, foreverrrr = 1 month.

I was just thinking the other day when walking out of house to work, that i actually live in a zoo. Why? Because I saw a squirrel running across the road..and if i look out of my window still, there’ll be days when i’ll be able to see monkeys stealing fruits out of my neighbour’s trees. Don’t get me started on the countless of ants that keep crawling back into my room, and also my long time friends – Mary, Peter and John (the lizards we’ve yet to managed to exterminate!!). Animals…

The holidays are in fact good for me to take time to reflect & ponder.

Love is in the air

If only there’s a machine to type out how we’re feeling in our hearts immediately into the computer.
No wonder the bible says write your vision down and make it plain. Because many a times, how we really feel might not be what we say. For that matter, I’m reminded why i started writing in a blog..it’s to force myself to pen down my thoughts.

I quite like what Paul Scanlon said last week. Change ≠ transition.
What people are afraid of is not change..but the pain of transition. And a transition might not necessarily bring forth change. A food for thought.

In this month of love filling the air..how true that Life has taught us that love does not consist in gazing at each other, but in looking outward together in the same direction.

I thought I would have more to write. But nothing’s coming out.
Perhaps another day then.
